David T. Shufflebarger, CFRE - Managing Partner
David T. Shufflebarger, CFRE, Managing Partner, has provided a wide range of results-oriented services to more than 100 clients, including campaign counsel and direction, development assessment studies, campaign strategy studies and consulting, especially in board enhancement and planned giving. Since joining the Firm in 1994, he has guided 15 successful campaigns with results of more than $1 billion. “Shuff” has 25 years of successful experience in college and university advancement, serving Old Dominion University, Valdosta State University and Virginia Military Institute, before joining AHM&P. He was one of the authors of the award winning College and University Foundations: Serving America’s Public Higher Education,published in 1997, by the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges.
Shuff has been active in the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), writing and speaking at CASE national and district conferences and at National Association of Independent Schools national and state conferences. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Planned Giving Council and Chair of its ethics committee.
In 1994, Shuff was one of 26 senior professionals in the nation chosen by the National Society of Fund Raising Executives for a project to provide fund-raising counsel for selected Ford Foundation grant recipients. He was also selected by NSFRE, in 1991, as a participant in its second Executive Leadership Institute held at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. Shuff has been recognized with the YMCA’s Red Triangle Award for his service as Chairman of a metropolitan YMCA, and the Boy Scouts’ Silver Beaver and Virginia President’s Awards, and has served on the board of the Episcopal Charities Foundation.
Shuff holds an undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University and a master’s degree from The College of William and Mary.
