AHMP Team Member Participates in Career Day
AHM&P's Keisha Tennyson, Project Manager/Client Development, was invited to participate in Career Day at Atlanta Public School's Bethune Elementary. Keisha was honored to join other professionals from across metro Atlanta to speak with students about career paths while stressing the importance of obtaining an advanced education. Addressing a group of students that included third-thru-fifth graders, Keisha talked about her work with nonprofit organizations with her position at the Firm and also spoke of practicing what she preaches through the volunteer work she does outside of her 9-to-5 job. Giving back to the community — that's just one of the many things we admire about Keisha! We are proud she is a member our our RESULTS Team.

Cortona Experience 2007 Exhibit
January 25 – February 22, 2008
Opening Reception: Friday January 25, 2008, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

The Gallery at Chastain Arts Center proudly partners with the Lamar Dodd School of Art of the University of Georgia to present the third annual exhibit of artwork by participants in the university's Cortona Experience program. The Cortona Studies Abroad Program offers year round study to students from across the country. The "Cortona Experience" enables non-traditional students the opportunity to experience the exceptional educational opportunities that have become the hallmark of the Cortona Studies Abroad program over the last 37 years. For 10 days, about 20 lucky travelers study watercolor and photography, getting their inspiration from the incomparable beauty of Tuscany.

One of those lucky travelers was our own Del Martin, Managing Partner & Chairman of Alexander Haas Martin & Partners. Del will be showing a selection of her work at this year's exhibit. We invite everyone to come and enjoy the all the art created by these talented individuals during their sojourn to Cortona.

Del's Artwork on Exhibit
Del Martin
, AHM&P Managing Partner & Chairman, continues to garner attention in the art community. In January, Del had several of her paintings included in an exhibit at The Gallery at Chastain Arts Center. The exhibit, “Il Viaggio ,” included works of art by Cortona Experience Alumni and RG Brown, III. We told you in a previous Museum Results that for the past three years Del has taken time out of her very busy work schedule to travel to Cortona, Italy to take part in the University of Georgia’s School of Art week-long program, “The Cortona Experience.” This by-invitation-only continuing studies program enables art school alums to work alongside the undergraduates in the Studies Abroad Program in the small picturesque town of Cortona.

Del is honored to be a part of this gallery exhibition and we are proud of her artistic RESULTS. Click here to see her exhibited pieces.

David King's Bowls Featured in Gallery Exhibit
Woodturning artist and AHM&P Managing Partner & President, David King, has 3 of his wood vessels exhibited at the Brenau University Galleries, Gainesville, Ga. "Turning Point: A Legacy in Wood from the Caswell Collection" is an exhibit showcasing some of the Jim and Carolyn Caswell collection of contemporary wood turned wood vessels.

It is an honor for David to be part of the Caswell's personal collection. While he has been turning for less than 10 years, David's work is garnering the attention of serious collectors and his pieces sit beside those of more-established artists. The Caswell's have been collecting turned wood pieces for more than 25 years, having been inspired by the work of artist Ed Moulthrop. The exhibit features a variety of work from six Georgia artists, including David, and runs through December 3.

David and his woodturnings were featured recently in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. You can learn more about his work, view and inquire for purchase, at his website, here.

Del Retreats for Art
Believing an artist always has more to learn, Del Martin, AHM&P Chairman, is always open to enhancing her creative talents of painting and drawing. Her continuing studies recently took her on an art retreat, run by the prestigious Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida. The “camp,” which has been held annually for almost 20 years, is held at Wildacres Retreat Center in the tranquil North Carolina mountains. The week-long art workshops are led by Ringling School faculty in areas such as figure-drawing, painting and raku pottery. This year Del took advantage of her "retreat time" to paint pastel and Conte scenes of the Italian hilltown of Cortona and the expansive and expressive vistas of Africa, based on photos from her trips this year. You can see some of her Wildacres retreat work if you click here.

Under the Tuscan With Del Martin.
You know her as seasoned and successful fund-raising professional and CEO of AHM&P. But did you know that Del Martin is also an accomplished artist? For the past several years Del has taken time out of her very busy work schedule to travel to Cotona, Italy to take part in the University of Georgia’s School of Art week-long program, “The Cortona Experience.” This by-invitation-only continuing studies program enables art school alums to work alongside the undergraduates in the Studies Abroad Program in the small picturesque town of Cortona.

Del's watercolors express the ambiance, feeling and inspiration this medieval city exudes around every one of its' stone-walled corners. Click here to visit the town that inspired "Under the Tuscan Sun," through her vivid paintings.

Trick or Treat at AHM&P
All work and no play makes AHM&P staff a dull lot. Not wanting to miss some time to have a little fun, during lunch of course, some of our hard-working, RESULTS-driven staff decided to bring some Halloween into the office on the frightful day of the ghoul. And why not add a bit of a competition too, the Award for Best Costume got a nifty AHM&P computer briefcase and a lot of Halloween candy.

Don't be alarmed it's just (from left to right) David King (stick 'em up), Del Martin (Mardi Gras ready), Cara Lee (missing her days on the prairie), Heather Harris (who wants to learn to belly dance), Kristin Collazuol (Pippi Longstockings never looked sweeter) and Jane Scott (who hopes one day to be a valet attendant).

Our sweet Kristin was announced the winner, and wanted to share her prize with the entire staff (the candy, not the briefcase). And since everyone could not resist the sweets, the office was abuzz well into Halloween night.
